Perfect Mead Pairings for Your Turkey Dinner

Now that we’ve moved past Halloween, it’s time to start thinking about the next big holiday - Thanksgiving!

Most people don’t classically think of mead with their Thanksgiving meal, but mead is the perfect choice no matter what type of “wine” you are looking for - dry and crisp, sweet and fruity, fall flavors, you name it! Here are our suggestions for a perfect Thanksgiving pairing!

With a traditional Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, dressing (stuffing?), sides, and dessert, you can’t go wrong with any of these choices…

On the drier end - Traditional Mead Off-dry, Pear Mead Off-dry (like a white wine), Blackberry Mead Off-dry (like a light, tart red wine)

Lightly sweet – Cloer Pyment (light flavor of Nobel grapes), Pomegranate Pink Peppercorn (honey, tart pomegranate, and a zing of pink peppercorns), Kickin’ Cranberry Orange (especially with smoked turkey!)

On the sweeter end – Traditional Mead Semi-sweet, Cranberry Orange (all your favorite holiday flavors in one glass!), Honey Spiced Apple (from appetizers to pumpkin pie, this mead goes with it all!)

Not serving a traditional turkey dinner? No problem! If you are having beef try Blackberry Mead Off-dry or Honeyed Blackberry. Either are wonderful with beef. As is Pomegranate Pink Peppercorn’s tart finish – especially with grilled steak or anything that features peppercorn.

Looking to pair with a vegetarian dinner? Think about Nordic Blend, Kickin’ Cranberry Orange, or a Traditional that tastes like honey.

No matter what you choose, you can’t go wrong with a mead to surprise your family and friends!
